5 Counties Seminar Teapot Challenge – Mitred Square Scarf ideas

detailIn my last post I talked about the 5 Counties Seminar that is coming up in September.

I’ve picked out the fibres that I’ll be using in the scarf and have done some sampling of the first group of fibres. These will be the main colours in the scarf, with the second group of fibres being the accent colours.

I have a lot of fibre here and won’t spin all of it. I have just over 700g of fibre, but will probably only need 300g at most for the scarf.

I’m planning on making 3-ply yarns, about fingering to sport weight. I’ll most likely chain ply the singles to get the 3-ply yarn.

I’m planning on having a stained glass effect in the scarf. The squares will be outlined in the darker green shade with other colours completing the squares. I’ll likely have two or more colours in each square.

I’m planning the scarf to be 12 inches wide by 72 inches long. I going to start with 4 squares wide and see how that looks.
